Project Press Conference hosted
by San Raffaele Hospital, Milan,
Italy, August 30, 2006
As
this investiture, PIPS-PO Italy,
strongly coordinated by FCSR as
Project Coordinator, has fixed,
with the approval of the PMB members,
a press briefing for the Italian
media held on August, 30th, 2006.
Being PIPS directed to the end-user
and having indeed the purpose
to reach a wide target population,
the event was addressed to the
Italian media and has involved
generalist media like newspapers,
television, radio, press agencies
and some scientific magazine.
From the content point of view
the aim was to explain the PIPS
services to support the citizen's
health and lifestyle and about
the future scenarios that will
be developed in the next two years.

World Congress of Public Health
Nutrition, in conjunction with
the 7th SENC Congress in Barcelona,
Spain, September 28-30, 2006
The
event gave to the Project the
opportunity to be launched internationally
as health promoter through improved
nutrition and physical activity
via ICT. The meeting has been
covered by international media,
who showed a special interest
in the pilot demo performed during
the PIPS session, which was the
only one on ICT in health applications
of the Congress. A specific press
release on PIPS has been distributed
and, in terms of press review,
an article has been published
in the leading Spanish newspaper
El Paìs, as well as publications
in various magazines of popular
press. In addition other two magazines
are interested in publishing articles
(Muy Interesante, circulation
of 360,000 and Quo circulation
of 236,000).

Italian National Congress — "Human
Nutrition, technology and prevention",
Riccione (RM), Italy, November
8-10, 2006
The
format of the Congress consisted
of plenary sessions, parallel
sessions and roundtables sessions,
with national experts debating
topics about nutrition as the
basis for the health prevention
and about technologies applied
to nutrition. Moreover, a stands
area was prepared on the common
spaces, to let the national experts
and researchers to advertise their
product and solutions.

The
World Healthcare Innovation and
Technology Congress (WHIT Congress),
co-sponsored by The Wall Street
Journal is a global forum presenting
innovative technological advances
and thought leadership in the
use of technology to transform
healthcare practice and enable
better access, quality, safety,
and greater cost effectiveness
in the delivery of healthcare.
In this context Project Board
released a press conference underlying
as PIPS helps to improve the quality
of life and also can prevent possible
risks to one’s health.

SAFECOMP Week in Gdansk, Poland, September 25-29, 2006
SAFECOMP was a PIPS sponsored workshop, with two main objectives:
1. to aggregate during an international conference the members of the Scientific Community (in this conference experts of trust and security aspects in e-Health);
2. to present and stress the PIPS Project and its relevance and to attract the interest of researchers from around the world.
